- Oliver E. Hallman
Oliver E. Hallman, 91, of Fairview Mennonite Home, Preston, died Wednesday in South Waterloo Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Hallman, he was born in New Dundee. After farming in Alberta for 20 years, he retired to Kitchener in 1925. He was a member of Bethany United Missionary Church.
His wife, the former Zelinda Betzner, died in 1943.
Surviving are three sons, Willard of Wilmore, Ky.; Rev. Clifford Hallman of Calgary and Dr. Garland Hallman of Vancouver; two brothers, Titus of Rochester, N.Y., and Wesley of Vancouver; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Cressman of Preston, Mrs. Byron Shupe of Marion, N.Y., and Miss Bertie of Syracuse, N.Y. One daughter, Ruby Bowman, died in 1954.
The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until Saturday noon, when it will be removed to Bethany Church, where friends may pay respects until service at 3 p.m. Rev. L. K. Sider will officiate and burial will be in First Mennonite Cemetery.
