PRESTON, Aug. 12. Believed to have died in her sleep on Saturday, Mrs. James Luscombe, 78, well-known Preston resident, was found dead in her bed at her residence, Hamilton Street, yesterday afternoon, by local police and Robert Whittaker. Coroner Dr. C. G. Powers, of Preston, investigated and pronounced death due to natural causes. Robert Whittaker, who had befriended the late Mrs. Luscombe, who resided atone, was advised by neighbors, that they had not seen the deceased for some days. He contacted Constable W. Groh of the local police department and they jointly investigated. There was no indication in the home that the deceased had suddenly been taken. Interment was held at 7: 30 last evening, in the Preston cemetery. Born in Nottingham, England, the late Mrs. Luscombe came to Preston, in 1913, from England, residing here for the past 36 years and being well known in the district. She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church. For the past 15 years the deceased had lived retired, having been employed, previous to that time, at Turnbulls in Galt. Her husband predeceased her 14 years ago. Surviving are two nephews, Bram Bradford and John Bradford, both of Preston.
