  HARTFORD, Samuel John - At the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital, on Monday, May 29, 1978, aged 82 years, Samuel Hartford of 36 Shanley St., Kitchener, a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church; the Canadian Order of Foresters; Kitchener Branch 50 of the Canadian Legion. He retired an employee of the B.F. Goodrich Ltd. Served in the First and Second World Wars. Husband of the late Clara Humeme[sic]; son of the late Edward Hartford and Rachel Calvert; brother of Barney of Detroit, James of Stratford, and Maggie (Mrs. Jack Playford) of Owen Sound; dear friend of Mrs. Carrie Dickson of Kitchener; predeceased by. one son, Carlisle; two sisters, Mary Playford and Sadie Olzem. Visitation at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton St., Kitchener, after noon on Wednesday, Funeral and committal services on Thursday, June 1, from the funeral home at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Cronmiller of St. Mark's Lutheran Vernon. Church officiating. Interment to follow in the Soldiers Plot of Woodland cemetery.
