    • PRESTON'S GRAND OLD MAN, centenarian Charlie Halberstadt, passed away Sunday, within three weeks of his 101st birthday. had known him a great many years and at one time, if memory is right, he was on the staff of the Kress hotel and living nearby on the Fountain . Street hill. He was a cooper by trade, and for 11 years lived in Galt working at his trade. He was a brother of the late Joe Halberstadt of our city and of Mrs. Katherine Campbell of Walnut Street, prominent Ivy Rebekah official. Until a year ago, in spite of his years, Charlie Halberstadt was remarkably active and able to get around.
