Passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Woodstock General Hospital. Margaret (Bell) Hofstetter of Woodstock and formerly of Plattsville and Bright in her 88th year. Beloved wife of John Hofstetter whom she married July 8, 1989. Loving mother of Jim Bell and wife Jane of New Hamburg, Ross Bell and wife Kathy of Plattsville, Pat and husband Gord Hall of Plattsville, Cathy and husband Cecil Hofstetter of RR#1, Plattsville and Bruce Bell and wife Lynn of Bright. She will be sadly missed by her 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Marg will be fondly remembered by her step children Gerald Hofstetter and wife Jane of Southhampton, Mary Ella Pettigrew of London, Ferne and husband Don Woolcott of RR#3 Bright, Richard Hofstetter and wife Sheila of Lambeth and Laurie and husband Clare Robinson of Oshawa, and by her 18 Step Grandchildren and 9 step great-grandchildren. Survived by her sister Gladys Gibson of Gilford and by brothers and sisters-in-law Layton and Helen Hofstetter, Harry Hofstetter all of Plattsville, Ruby Ament of Milverton, Reid and Eva Hofstetter of Kitchener and Jean Ross of Woodstock. Predeceased by her first husband George Bell (1969), brother Frank Kell and wife Kay, step son-in-law Bill Pettigrew, brother-in-law Harold Gibson and sister-in-law Jean Kell. Marg was a Past Worthy Matron of the Thames Valley Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Bright United Church. Relatives and friends may call at the Glendinning Funeral Home 40 William St., Plattsville on Friday 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be conducted at the Plattsville United Church on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 2: 30 p.m. Interment in Chesterfield Cemetery. An Eastern Star Memorial Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday evening at 6: 30 pm under the auspices of Thames Valley Chapter. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Parkinson Foundation (cheques accepted) would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be sent at: www.gffh.ca
