  A sad bereavement came to the home of Mr and Mrs Fred Darnley on the evening of May 24th, when their little child, Fred Line (Teddy,) was taken away at the age of two years, ten months and thirteen days. The little one was taken ill on Friday, May 19th, with malignant scarlet fever. About 2 pm on Wednesday he developed throat trouble and after great suffering passed away about ten o'clock that evening. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved parents. The funeral took place on Thursday at 2 pm, from Mr Darnley's residence, on Wellington Street, to the Preston Cemetery, where the interment was made. - Preston Progress.
