  MELVIN E. APPELL The death of Melvin E. Appel, 1 Cedar St. S., apt 1, occurred today at the K-W Hospital at the age of 47. A son of Mrs. Catherine Appell of New Hamburg and the late Charles Appell. He was born Dec. 9, 1897 at New Hamburg. Mr Appell attended Benton St. Baptist Church. Surviving are his wile, nee Faith McKelvie, two sons, Cpl., Robert Appell, confined to a hospital in England and Jack Appell of Kitchener, one grandson, one brother, Eldon (Charles) Appell of Kitchener and one sister, Mrs. Roy Hagey of New Hamburg. Private service will be held at Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, with burial in Woodland Cemetery. Rev. G. Stover. pastor of Benton St. Baptist Church, will officiate.
