  MARTHA DEMPSEY PRESTON, Oct. 6 - Miss Martha Dempsey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Dempsey, 930 Queen street, died last night in the Galt General Hospital, after an illness of three weeks. She was in her 25th year and for the past six years had been employed by the Parker-Steel division of Savage Shoes Ltd. She was a lieutenant in the 86th division of the Girl Guides, a member of the Young People's Society of Knox Presbyterian church and a member of the Francis Hawlin Auxiliary of the church. The funeral will be held from her residence, Friday, afternoon at 3.30 o'clock, interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Kitchener Daily Record 6 Oct 1937 pg 15
