At Victoria Place, Kitchener, surrounded by her family, on Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, Sally Erb, age 92 years. Wife of Irvin E. Erb for 60 years, who predeceased her in 1991. Beloved mother of Canon John Erb and Didy of Toronto, Cathie Howard and John of Hornby Island, B.C., Margie Carr and Bob of Hamilton. Loved grandmother of Stephen Howard and Rhonda Spence, Mary Howard and Stewart Murray, Thomas Howard and Landys Klyne, Sally Howard and Jim Hamaguchi; Timothy Carr and Kate Feightner, Patrick and Sarah Carr; Nicholas and Katie Erb. Dear great-grandmother of Emily Howard and Alex Lavigne, Duncan, Will and Angus Murray. Sister-in-law of Olly Bennett. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas Meyschein and Catherine Schneider; sister of the late John Meyschein, Frieda Litt and Lydia McCutcheon. Sally was born in Toronto in 1907 and lived and finished her schooling in St. Lambert, Que. She graduated from nursing at Stratford General Hospital in 1928 where she was known as "Miss Sunshine". Her many interests in bettering humankind included the IODE (Regent of the Queen Anne Chapter of Kitchener), the Cancer Society, Red Cross and War Services and Canadian Save the Children in the Kitchener chapter. She was a member of Trinity United Church and St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. She will always be remembered as a woman of great dignity and grace and friends and family of all ages adored her. At her request, cremation will take place. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. A Celebration of Her Life will be held in the chapel on Friday at 2 p.m. Reception to follow in the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre.
