- Frederick S. Steel
PRESTON - Frederick S. Steel, 306 Lowther St., died Thursday at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, after an illness of several months. Mr. Steel was born in Montreal and came to Preston with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Steel. He was associated for many years with his father in the Parker-Steel Co. here. He also operated a shoe business in Hespeler. He was a veteran of the First World War and served overseas with 111th Battalion. He was a member of the Preston Canadian Legion Branch and a member of Preston chapter No. 245 Royal Arch Masons, GRC and a past grand patriot of Preston Dodge IOOF. He was predeceased by one brother, Henry W., and by two sisters, Florence Eva and Mrs. John (Violet) Pannabaker. Surviving are his wife, the former Emma Marsden; two brothers. Bert of Windsor and Ralph of Kitchener. A private funeral service will he held at the residence Saturday at 11 a.m. Rev. C. E Ladd of St. John's Anglican Church will officiate.
