  HERTEL, Edith J. Of Hamilton Street, Cambridge, on Saturday, Jan. 7, 1995, at her residence, in her 82nd year. Edith Thomson, beloved wife of the late Alex Hertel (March, 1993). Dear mother of John and his wife Cathy of Maryhill, Richard of Burnaby. B.C., Doug and his wife Jane of Kitchener, Judith and her husband Harold Steeb of Hanover and Brenda and her husband Peter McGaghey of Owen Sound. Lovingly remembered by 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Elizabeth Macdonnell of Cambridge. Predeceased by her parents, John and Levina Thomson and two brothers, William and Russell. Mrs. Hertel was born in Cambridge (Preston) and was a life-long resident. She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, a Past Noble Grand of Queen Rebekah Lodge, No. 54, a member of Preston Women's Institute, a convener of Meals on Wheels and Preston Senior Citizen's Group. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge today (Monday) from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 1995 at 11: 30 a.m. with Canon David Bowyer officiating.
