  Joseph Gingrich PRESTON, Aug. 19 - Joseph Gingrich, a well known Preston resident for nearly half a century, died suddenly at his home, 178 Francis St., at 10: 30 Saturday night of a heart attack, at the age of 83 years. Mr. Gingrich had been employed at his regular duties at Pattinson Woollen Mill until Saturday and word of his sudden passing came as a distinct shock to many friends. Born in Preston he received his education and resided here until 20 years of age when he went to Detroit, spending 18 years in that city and then returning to Preston 28 years ago, residing here since that time. He was employed as a machinist at the Pattinson Woollen Mill for the past 15 years, having been employed prior to that time at the Preston Woodworking Machinery Co., while he learned his trade in Preston with the former Ballantine industry. A keen sportsman, Mr. Gingrich was an ardent hunter and was interested in all sports. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Surviving is his wife, Rose Marzean; a daughter, Mrs. John Wunder, Preston; two sons, Clarence of Preston and Harry at home; one granddaughter, Sandra Wunder, Preston; three brothers. Charles, George and Fred, all of Preston and a sister, Miss Laura Gingrich, Preston. A sister, Mrs. Benjamin Warner of Guelph, predeceased him two years ago and a brother, William of Preston, predeceased him 22 years ago. The remains are resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home, from where the funeral will be held on Wednesday at 2: 30, with interment in the Preston cemetery, Kitchener Daily Record 19 Aug 1946 pg 15
