  Mrs. John Sohrt PRESTON— A lifelong resident of Preston, Mrs. John Sohrt, 79, died at her home, 543 Queen St., today. Her death was an aftermath of a heart attack, suffered two and a half months ago. Born in Preston, Mrs. Sohrt was the daughter of the late August and Martha Ploethner. Her father was one of the early and well-known business men of the community. On Sept 25, 1951, Mr. Sohrt and the late Mrs. Sohrt observed their golden wedding anniversary. A staunch member and active worker in the interest of St Peter's Lutheran Church, Mrs. Sohrt also had an active interest as a homemaker. She was s charter member of the Women's Missionary Society, a member of the Ladies Aid and for a number of years was president of the Waterloo College Auxiliary of the Lutheran Church in Preston. Surviving are her husband, John, two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Margaret) Ekins of Mimico and Mrs. Robert (Helen) Nix of Preston; a son, Herbert, of Preston and four grandchildren. Two children, Frank and Isabel, died in infancy. The body is at the residence, until Saturday at 10: 30 a.m., then at the Stager-Pass Ltd. Funeral Home, for services at 2: 30 p.m. Interment will be in the Preston cemetery. Kitchener-Waterloo Record 8 Jan 1953 pg 7
