      PRESTON, June 11. Ailing for the past 18 months, William James Currie, Preston resident for the past 12 years, died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, yesterday afternoon at the age of 85 years. Mr. Currie had been confined to hospital for several weeks. He was born in St. Marys, Ont. and for many years farmed at Edrens, Man. until his retirement 12 years ago when he came to Preston. His wife predeceased him eight months ago, to the day. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. M. McDougal of McGregor, Man,, Mrs. David Gowing and Mimi Grace Currie of Preston; four sons, Andrew of Firdale Man,, George of Firdale, Donald of Nipawin, and Frank of Armley, Sask.Nineteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, also survive, The remains are resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home, where the funeral will be held on Wednesday at 3: 30. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
