      PRESTON, Sept. 19 - Illness of nearly three years duration culminated in the depth at his residence, 434 Dover St., at 7 o'clock this morning, of Henry Holland, well-known Preston citizen. Mr. Holland, who was 59 years of age, was born in Bury, England and came to Canada, directly to Preston, 40 years ago, from Darwin, England, making his home here since that time. He was originally employed as a machinist with the former Metal Shingle Siding Company, now Eastern Steel Products, Preston and the former Car and Coach Company, Preston, while for the past 25 years he was engaged as a machinist with the Babcock Wilcox-GoIdie McCullough industry, Galt. Mr. Holland was a member of the once famous, Preston Silver Band, playing a bass horn. He took a keen interest in sports. He was a past noble grand of the Preston I.O.O.F. Lodge, No.188 and a member of Victory Encampment and the Canadian Order of Foresters and was also a number of St. John's Anglican church. Surviving are his wife; a son, Walter; one brother, James, all of Preston; two sisters, Mrs. Fretwell, of Toronto and Mrs. B. Collins, of Darwin, England. Two brothers predeceased him, Thomas, f our years ago and John, 15 years ago. The remains are resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home, from where the funeral will be held Thursday afternoon, at 3 00 pm. Interment wil1 be in the Preston cemetery. The funeral will be under I.O.O.F. auspices.
