      PRESTON, Dec. 6— After an illness of seven years duration, Nathan William Smith, well-known Preston resident for 24 years, died at Hamilton on Sunday, in his 59th year. Mr. Smith was born in New Hamburg and came to Preston from Victoria, B.C. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. James Mills, Preston and Ruth Margaret Smith, Hamilton; one son, Cpl. Kenneth Smith, RCAF, overseas and one grand-daughter. The remains are resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home where a private funeral service will be held tomorrow afternoon, at 2: 30 with interment in the Preston Cemetery.
