  GOTTLEIB MARQUARDT The death occurred here early today of Gottleib Marquardt, Preston resident for the past15 years. Deceased who was in his 92nd year, had been ailing for some time, but was seriously ill only during the past three weeks. Born in Stenslau, West Prussia, Germany, the late Mr. Marquardt came to Canada as young man and farmed in the Ragland, Ontario, district for many years. Since coming to Preston 15 years ago he Iived retired. A daughter, Mrs. Amelia Weiland, of Kitchener and a son, Gustav of Midland, survive. There are also 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. His wife predeceased him in October, 1928. Remains are resting at the H. K. Stager Funeral Home, Preston, where the service will he held on Friday at 2.30 p.m. Interment will be in the Preston cemetery. Kitchener Daily Record 2 Oct 1940 pg 17
