PRESTON, June 7— Suffering a heart attack while walking on Laurel St. yesterday afternoon. Minnie Hascarl, relict of Joseph Frederick Rettinger, died on the steps of a neighboring home before medical aid could be secured. The deceased had apparently been in good health previously and word of her sudden passing came as a distinct shock to many friends. In her 67th year, the deceased had been a resident of Preston for the past 60 years and during that lengthy period had formed a large circle of friends and acquaintances. Surviving are three sons, Edwin of Hamilton; Arnold and Stuart of Preston; seven sisters, Mrs. Fred Lang, Mrs. Duncan Pollock, of Preston: Mrs. Fred Hill, Toronto, Mrs. Andrew Hart, Philadelphia, Mrs. Edward Cooper, Galt, Mrs. Jack Lauder, Conestogo, Mrs. Jack Fraser, Galt; one brother, Louis Hascarl, B.C. Two grandchildren also survive. The late Mrs. Rettinger is resting at the Stager-Pass Ltd. Funeral Home, from where the funeral will be held on Saturday at 1: 30 p.m. Rev. W. H. Knauff of St. Peter's Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will be in Preston Cemetery.
