    • Brown City, Aug. 8 - Funeral services for Nathaniel H. Witmer, 78, pioneer farmer and carpenter of this vicinity, who died late Saturday night in the home of his brother, Allen Witmer, where he had made his home for the last three years, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Mennonite church.

      Rev. Gordon Woods, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

      Mr. Witmer was born Sept. 2, 1864, near Breslau, Ont., and came to Burnside township with his parents in 1872.

      On Feb. 13, 1889, he married Miss Amelia Clemens in Waterloo, Ont.

      Besides his brother, Allen Witmer, Mr. Witmer is survived by a son, Harry Witmer, Goderich, Ont.; a daughter, Mrs. Ward Ambersly, Toronto. Ont.; another brother, Irwin Witmer, Toronto; and two grandchildren.
