  AUGUSTUS DAVID. Augustus David was born in Canada. November 23, 1886, and departed this life at the home of his son Lewis, in Casnovia, May 2. 1933, at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 11 days. On July 8. 1852 he was united in marriage to Mary Mcllmurray at Arkona, Ont. To this unton ten children wore born, all of whom sur vive him, except hie youngest daughter, Lena. His wife preceded him four years. Soon after their marriage they settled in Spring Lake, a short time later moving to Grand Rapids where he laid brick on most of the first large Bulidings erected there. After short residence there he bought a farm in Ashland, and took his family there, making the trip to and from Grand Rapids on foot, carrying suppiles and provisions on his back all that distance. He left Ashland and moved to the farm one mile west of Casnovia when moot of it was woods. Here he resoded 47 years. While living on this farm he worked at his trade in Muskegon, superintending the brick work on the Muskegon County Court House and many of the large factories. In his declining years the moved to Casnovia where he resided until the death of his wife. Since then he has spent his time among his children. He has been very active until the first of the present year. He has been a member of the F. & A. M. Lodge 58 years, having joined at Spring Lake, later transfering his membership to Lisbon Lodge, of which he became an honorary member, which membership was transferred in Casnovia when that Lodge was organized. ___________ CARD OF THANKS We wish to extend our sincere thanks to the neighbors and friends, the ladies whe furnished the masic[sic], those whe gave the use of their cars and the members of the F. and A.
