  EIzear T. Yates PRESTON— Elzear T. Yates, 524 Hamilton Street, died today at South Waterloo Hospital, Galt. He was 76. Mr. Yates was born in Preston and had resided here all his life. He had been in the insurance and real estate business here for many years. He was a member of St. Clement's RC Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a former member of the local separate school board, a member of the Preston Royal Canadian Legion, the Chamber of Commerce, the Preston-Hespeler Rotary Club and had been active in many civic affairs in Preston. He had also been in the First World War. He was predeceased by his wife the former Edith MacGregor in 1958. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Helen) Carney of Kitchener, Mrs. Brian (Jean) O'Neill of Montreal, Mrs. John (Rita) Basko of Dundas; one brother, Grosvenor Yates of Detroit; one sister, Mrs. Rose Hill of Preston and 10 grandchildren. The body is at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home where friends will be received Saturday and Sunday. Requiem mass will be at St. Clement's RC Church Monday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Clement's cemetery. The rosary will be recited Sunday at 7 p rn, at the funeral home.
