      At his residence. 565 Moore St., Preston, Sunday, Dec. 10. 1972, Gerald C. Pautler; beloved brother of Norbert and Jerome of Preston and Sister Imelda of Waterdown, Sister Rose of Hamilton, Sister Eileen of Mildmay.

      Mr. Pautler was born and lived in Preston all his life; he was a letter carrier for the Preston Post Office, member of St. Clement's Church.

      Mr. Pautler started his scouting career in 1935, he was the assistant Scout Master of the Second Preston Group and also Venturer Advisory of the Second Preston Group, he was also District Scout Master. His scouting awards included the Medal of Merit received in 1953, also the Long Service award and bars. He was a veteran of the Second World War. He was predeceased by his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. E. Pautler, one brother Joseph in 1970, and one sister, Helen in 1928. Mr. Pautler is resting at the Barthel.Stager Funeral Home. 566 Queen St., Preston, until Wednesday morning, then to St. Clement's Church, for funeral mass at 11: 30 a.m. Interment in Park Lawn cemetery. Rosary will be recited at the funeral home, Tuesday evening, at 8: 30 p.m.

      GERALD PAUTLER

      One of Preston's better known native citizens, Gerald C. Pautler, 565 Moore St., Preston, died at his residence Sunday in his 53rd year.
      Mr. Pautler was a long-service member of the Preston post office in the letter carrier department and a scouter in the community for many years. He lived all his life in Preston.
      His scouting career began back in 1935 and he subsequently served as assistant scouting master of Second Preston Troop and as group venturer advisor to the same troop; he also served as district scout master in Preston and received many scouting awards holding the medal of merit which he received in 1953.
      Mr. Pautler held the long service award and bars during his lengthy scouting career. He was a veteran of the Second World War and a member of St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church.
      Mr. Pautler was predeceased by his parents Mr. and Mrs. William Pautler and by one brother Joseph in 1970 and a sister Helen in 1928.
      Surviving are brothers Norbert and Jerome of Preston; sisters, Sister Imelda of Waterdown; Sister Rose of Hamilton and Sister Eileen of Mildmay.
      Mr. Pautler is resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, Preston, until Wednesday morning; then to St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church for funeral mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place in Preston cemetery. The parish rosary will be recited at the funeral home Tuesday evening at 8:30 p.m.
