Notes - John Sowa, PRESTON, John Sowa, 223 Water St., Preston, a well-known Preston resident for the past 24 years, died at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, early Sunday morning. In his 68th year, the late Mr. Sowa had been ailing for 10 months and was critically ill in hospital for the past week. A native of Poland, where he was born Jan. 22, 1905, Mr. Sowa, was married there in 1926 to Rose Sliwa, who survives. A cupola attendant by occupation, he was employed in that capacity with Clare Bros. He was a member of St. Clement's RC Church. Surviving are his wife, a son, Ted of Preston; abrother, Walter, in Poland; three sisters, all in Poland, Mrs. lgnaclous (Victoria) Wroclawski; Mrs. Angela Czaka and Mrs. Mary Bora, and a brother-in-law, Ignasious Wroclawski, of Guelph. The body is at the Stager-Pass, Ltd., funeral home until Tuesday, at 9: 30 a.m., then will be removed to St. Clement's RC Church, for requiem mass at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Clement's Cemetery.
