- A-1-74 Christian Brauns Probate of Will of Christian Brauns formerly of the Village of Preston, Laborer, deceased, granted the twenty fifth day of September One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Five to his widow and Executrix Caroline Brauns.
I Christian Brauns of Preston, in the County of Waterloo, Yeoman….I will and desire that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by my executrix…I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Carolina during the term of her natural life all my real and persona estate whatsoever and wheresoever to hold to her sole and only use, with the full privilege to dispose of any part or all my personal estate here before bequeathed to her. And upon her decease I give and devise unto my son Henry and to his heirs and assigns all my real estate of what nature and kind so ever, consisting of: lot number thirty-three on the south side of Duke Street and on the east side of Union street in Preston, containing one quarter of an acre more or less, and furthermore consisting of lots number twelve and thirty three between Duke street and William Street and between Union street and Swartz street now called Guelph street in Preston aforesaid, containing half an acre more or less to hold to him my said son Henry and to his heirs and assigns forever. And I furthermore give and bequeath to my said son Henry all the remainder of my personal estate which upon and after the decease of my said wife may remain undisposed of by her. And I nominate and appoint my said wife Carolina, sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament.
