• Notes

  Dr. William J. McCafferty, of 348 King St., died Saturday in South Waterloo Memorial Hospital. He was 49. Born in Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario, he was a graduate of Queen's University and had practiced medicine in Preston since 1955. He was a member of St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a former trustee on the Waterloo County separate school board. Dr. McCafferty is survived by his wife, the former Carol A. Beaver; two sons, Sean of Mississauga and Timothy of Cambridge; four daughters, Mrs. David (Sheila) Powell, Sherry Kinzie, Erin McCafferty, and Maureen McCafferty, all of Cambridge; his mother, Mrs. Susan McCafferty of Smooth Rock Falls; four brothers, Vincent of Guelph, Patrick and Michael of Smooth Rock Falls, and James of Whitby; three sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Mary) Curik of Timmims, Mrs. Gilbert (Susan) Legault of Smooth Rock Falls and Mrs. Gerry (Nora) Middleton of Scarborough. Friends will be received at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., until Tuesday morning, then to St. Clements Roman Catholic Church for a funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be St. Clement's Cemetery. The Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at the funeral home Monday at 7 p.m. followed by the. Parish Rosary at 7: 30 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Ontario Heart Fund would be appreciated by the family.
