  Maurer, Vernon L. - Peacefully, on Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Country View Retirement Home, RR 3, Listowel, Vernon L. Maurer, in his 88th year, of RR 1, Elmira. Beloved husband of the late Gertie (Zimmerman) Maurer. Loving father of John and Donna Maurer of Alma, Joan and Bob MacDonald of Donegal and Jim Maurer of RR 1, Elmira. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Jonathan and David Maurer, Crystal Schmidt and Terry and Leanne MacDonald and three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Vanessa and Taylor. Predeceased by parents, Walter and Ella Maurer. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, today (Tuesday) 2 - 4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon Wednesday transfer will be made to the Florodale [sic] Mennonite Church for funeral service at 2: 30 p.m., with Pastor Fred Redekopp officiating, followed by interment in the Florodale Mennonite Cemetery.
