  BEECHEY, John Lawrence It is with sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005 at KW Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. John was born in Kossuth 89 years ago and resided in Elmira since December 1958. He was a son of the late Emil Albert and Rose Catherine (Geier) Beechey and grew up in Guelph and Preston. Loving husband and best friend of Marcella L. Hergott, whom he married July 3, 1943. Loving and cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather of Wilbert (Bert) and his wife Mildred (McCleave) and their children. Heath and his wife Susan (Wastell) and their children, Morgan, Macey and Rogan, Tara. and Chey and her husband Fred Anderson and their children Kyle and Tyson of Ottawa; Gerard (Gerry) and his wife Phyllis (Woods) of St. Thomas and their children, Shayne and his wife Caryn (Hobbs) and their children, Taylor and Cassandra, Amber and her husband Brian Pickard and their children, Madison and Hunter, Tessa and her husband David McFadden and their children Riley and Keeley and Tyler and his wife Barbie (Tamming) and their children Connor and Lucas; Cecilia of Waterloo; Joanne and her husband Dennis Reid of Kitchener and their children, Natasha and her husband Mike Magon and their daughter, Alexandra, Tanya and her husband Rob Owens and their children, Sasha, Katelyn. Emily and Elizabeth of Waterloo, and Geoffrey and his wife Jean (Lem) and their sons, Daren and Kevin of Etobicoke; also survived by his brothers, Charles and his wife Betty of Preston; and Ralph of Kitchener and his sisters-in-law, Floy Beechey of Preston, Marie Beechey of London and Kay Beechey of Tillsonburg. Predeceased by his son, Joey, his grandson, Zachary Gerard Van Dam, his great-granddaughter, Emma Katherine Hobbs-Beechey, his daughter-in-law Florence (Dube), his sisters, Marcella and her husband Jack Flannery, Doreen Wheeler and Dolores, and his brothers, Isadore, Cyril, Vincent (Jim), Roy and Elmer. John was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Church in Elmira. John had been employed at Uniroyal Chemical for 31 years until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of the Ontario Genealogy Society, Region of Waterloo Historical Society, and Woolwich Historical Society. He spent many enjoyable hours newspaper-clipping historical articles. The family will receive friends and relatives at Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur Street, South, Elmira, (519) 669-2207, today (Friday) 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be Friday evening at 8: 00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila R.C. Church, 19 Flamingo Drive, Elmira on Saturday December 24, at 10 a.m. with Father Tim Uniac C.R. officiating. Interment will be in St. Teresa Cemetery, RRI Elmira.
