    • HUGHES, SAMUEL LOUNT was born in Simcoe County, probably in 1832. He graduated form Victoria University in 1866, and first practised in Glenallan.

      His card appeared in the Berliner Journal on October 24, 1867, giving his residence as Weber St., by the Presbyterian church. In 1816 [sic] the Waterloo Chronicle gave his office address as the Canadian Block, corner of King and Foundry Streets.

      On November 6, 1870 he died, ''after long suffering from tuberclosis", at 32 years of age.
