    • Jacob Seftel

      There was also called from this life one of the oldest residents of the district Saturday, March 15. Jacob Siftel aged 82 years. Death was caused by heart failure. The deceased was born in Germany and came with his parents to Canada when about two years old, the family settling in Preston, January 10, 1871 he married Miss Magdaline Pfanner of this place, setting in Wilmot Township where he spent the last 55 years. The late Jacob Seftel was healthy and a hard working man and well known. There survive him his three sisters, and one brother, five daughters and seven sons. The sisters are Mrs. Henry Schneider of this place, Mrs. Henry Miller of Roseville, and Lissie of Preston. His brother Henry resides in Millbank. The daughters are Mary (Mrs. Peter: Smith) of Doering's Corner, Elizabeth (Mrs. Wm. Stralto) of Crossfield, Alta., Annie (Mrs. Wm. Becker) of Wellesley, Lovine (Mrs. George Neumaster) of Poole and Adeline home here. The sons are George, Baden, Edwin in Kitchener, Jacob in New Hamburg, Moses in Galt, William in Hespeler, and Arthur and Nelson at home.

      The funeral held on Tuesday afternoon Mar. 18 at 2 p.m. from the late residence to the Canada Lutheran Church in Wellesley for services and at the Union Cemetery where interment followed. Rev. Rebble of Linwood conducted the services.

      The pall bearers were George Neumeister of Poole, Wm. Becker of Wel-Corner, and Jacob Schneider, John H. Wagner and John S. Koehler, the latter three of this place.
