  BARTMAN, Catherine Magdelena Leis - Our dear Mother passed away on July 18, 2007 at Nithview Home, New Hamburg. Catherine was born in Wellesley, Ontario on June 16, 1929 and was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Wagler) Leis. She moved to Toronto as a young woman where she trained at St. Michael's Hospital and became a Registered Nurse. For many years she worked at St. Michael's Hospital Emergency Department and later at The Hospital for Sick Children. Catherine also worked at Nursing Homes in Toronto, Kitchener and finally in Palliative Care. Loving mother to her three daughters, Julia (Martin) Libling of Phoenix, AZ, Martha (Tobias) Heyworth of Havelock and Sandra Bartman of Waterloo. Sadly missed by her grandchildren, Kathryn and Adam Libling. Dear sister of Erma and Ervin Steinmann and Florence and Harold McFarlane all of New Hamburg and sister-in-law to Arvilla Leis of Tavistock and Jean Leis of Kitchener. Also remembered by Melvin Bartman of Dorset, Gordon Bartman of Willowdale and Doreen Hodgins of Powasson. Catherine was predeceased by her brothers, Vernon and Ralph Leis and brother-in-law, Wilbert Bartman. The family will receive friends at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. Interment at Steinmann Mennonite Church Cemetery, Baden.
