  RUPPEL, Murray J. - Peacefully, went home to be with the Lord, on Thursday, May 30, 2002, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Murray J. Ruppel, in his 87th year, of Elmira. Beloved husband of Margaret (Young) Ruppel for 63 years. Dear father of Tom Ruppel of Ross and Gene Ruppel of St. Jacobs, Jim Ruppel of Kitchener, Linda and Dennis MacLeod of Stratford. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren. Adam and Sean Ruppel of Uxbridge, Chris (Krista) Ruppel of St. Jacobs, Kim (Derek) Doidge of Waterloo, Jeff (Kerri) MacLeod of Hamilton and Trevor MacLeod of Stratford and great-grandchildren, Gassy and Erik Ruppel, Julia and Reagan MacLeod. Brother of Roland Ruppel of British Columbia; brother-in-law of Lois Ruppel of Waterloo and Robert and Doris Young of Kitchener. Predeceased by his parents, Louis and Ada Ruppel; one brother, Ken, sister-in-law, Marie and daughter-in-law. Karen. Murray was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Elmira and was the organist there for over 50 years. He was the last surviving member of the Happy Cousins entertainment group and had belonged to a number of bands during his life. Murray was a printer by trade and had retired from Davis and Henderson in Waterloo. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, today (Friday) 2-4 and 7.9 p.m. At 9 a.m. Saturday, transfer will be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Elmira. for funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard A. Frey officiating. followed by internment in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Elmira.
