  Gies, Joseph W. - Suddenly, at Toronto Western Hospital, Toronto, on Thursday, March 10, 1983, as the result of a heart attack, Joseph W. Gies, aged 69 years, of 310-49 Vanier Dr., Kitchener. Mr. Gies was a retired driver of United cabs. Survived by his wife, the former Eileen Wagner; four brothers, Victor, Frederick, Carl and Jerome, all of Kitchener and five sisters, Helen (Mrs. Frank Gross) of Kitchener, Bernice (Mrs. Helmut Pohl) of Waterloo, Mrs. Marie Schumacher of Detroit, Mrs. Eleanor Zupan of Niagara Falls and Mrs. Ida Harlock of Guelph. Predeceased by one brother and one sister. At the request of the family there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
