    • KNECHTEL, A. Fern At her residence, Luther Village, on Thursday, January 28, 2010, after a brief illness. Alma Fern Knechtel, aged 84 years. Fern was a member of Mannheim Mennonite Church and had been employed with K-W Hospital for 30 years until her retirement. Loving sister to Orval of Kitchener, Dorothy of Waterloo, Alfred of London, Erma R. Gingerich and Carol and her husband Alson Martin all of Elmira, sister-in-law to Reta of Kitchener and Gladys of Elmira, also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Ephraim Knechtel and Edna Snyder, two brothers Clifford and Paul, two sisters Grace Knechtel and Lila Martin, sister-in-law Mary, and brothers-in-law Gordon Gingerich and Clayton L. Martin. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 where the funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ruth Anne Laverty officiating, spring interment will be held in the Mannheim Mennonite Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee as expressions of sympathy through the funeral home. Reception to follow in the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre.
