- Dies at 92 Years After Long Illness
Mrs. Henry Smith, One of Ontario's Oldest Pioneers, Called.
There passed away Sunday morning Oct 31st on the Wilmot-Zorra Townline one of the oldest residents The community, in the person of Elizabeth Anne Facey widow of the Heury Smith in her 92nd. The deceased was a member in a well known and highly respected pioneer family being the eldest daughter of John and Margaret Vale Facey who lived on the farm now owned by Mr Wm Marwick Mrs Smith was born near Gunnie's Lake. Cornwall England coming to Canada with her parents in the year 1846, when but three months of age, her husband died Nov 2 1909. One daughter Hannah, and two sons, Geo and Robert are left to mourn the passing of a loving mother One daughter Rosa (Mrs. Wm. White) died in 1936. Of 8 brothers and sisters only two brothers survive Henry Facey of Mitchell and Rev R A Facey of Erie. The remains were laid to rest in the family plot at St. James Cemetery Tuesday afternoon. Nov 24 Rev E. H. Chart of Guelph officiated.
