  DEATH OF CHAS. SCHAEFER - After an illness which started over a year ago and later causing total blindness, Mr. Charles W. Schaefer passed away at his home here on Monday, November 26th, at the age of 36 years, 6 months and 5 days. The deceased was a son of the late Valentine Schaefer and was born on a farm south of New Hamburg and resided here practically all his life. For a number of years he worked at the tailoring trade and for the past few years conducted a grocery business. He was a member of the Canadian Order of Foresters and in religion an adherent of the Baptist faith. About twelve years ago he was married to Emma Ruthig, daughter of Mr. John W. Ruthig, who is left with a family of five children to mourn his early demise. Besides he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Schaefer, and five brothers and five sisters. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon from his late home to the Baptist church and was attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relative and friends. The service was conducted by Rev. Mr. Wiesle and interment took place in Riverside Cemetery. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of their many friends in their sad loss. Newspaper unknown
