  Fries, Frederick C. - At K-W Hospital, on Friday, Jan. 25, 1980, after a lengthy illness, Frederick Carl Fries, of 601 Lancaster St. W., Kitchener, aged 76 years. Had been employed at Merchant's Rubber for 43 years until his retirement in 1968. A member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bridgeport, the Bridgeport Rod and Gun club and the Senior Citizens. Husband of the former Margaret Goodwin; father of Murray, Wilbert, Earl, Ross, Gary, Mrs. Arley (Phyllis) Geiger and Mrs. Ronald (Joyce) Hutchings, all of Kitchener, Robert, Harold (Butch), Douglas and Mrs. Howard (Elaine) Geffros, all of Waterloo; brother of Clayton and Ralph, both of Elmira, Mrs. Desma Lewis of Kitchener, Mrs. Bruce (Margaret) Bossence of Chatham; 41 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren also survive. Predeceased by his parents and one brother, Gordon. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 2 pm on Saturday, until noon on Monday, when removal will be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bridgeport, where the funeral service will be held at 2 pm with Rev.
