- KRAEMER, Thomas E. Peacefully. after a brief illness, on Friday, Dec. 29, 2000 at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Thomas E. Kraemer of Elmira.
Beloved husband of Rita (Foerster) Kraemer for 57 years; loving father and father-in-law of Gerard Kraemer (Joanne, Debra), Daniel Kraemer (Judy) all of Waterloo, Gloria Schoenhals (David) of Elmira, Frank Kraemer of Vancouver, B.C. and Joanne Kraemer of Elmira. Sadly missed by his ten grandchildren, Geoffrey, Michael, Heather, David, Jeremy, Matthew, Krista, Jennifer, Brent and Nicholas. Dear brother or Rose Plomske of Waterloo.
Predeceased by his parents, Seraphin and Ellen (Hammar) Kraemer; one son, Dennis Kraemer; six brothers and three sisters.
Tom farmed near Dorking for 31 years before moving to Elmira in 1974. He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, Elmira and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, Father Hugh MacKinnon Council 8192, the Holy Name Society, the Linwood Rod and Gun Club and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 469. Tom was also a well known builder and renovator in the Elmira, Linwood and Millbank areas and an avid horseshoe and hockey player in his younger days. He also loved to play the violin and always enjoyed a good game of solo.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, Flamingo Dr., Elmira on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. with Father George Nowak CR officiating, followed by interment in Elmira Union Cemetery. Knights of Columbus service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers.
