  Knechtel, Mrs. Allen S. (Gertrude Madeline) - Of 97 Charles St. E., at the K-W Hospital, on Saturday July 12, 1980, after a lengthy illness, 75 years of age. A member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. The former Gertrude Opper, wife of Allen S. Knechtel; mother of John and Peter, both of Kitchener, Gerald of Portland, Ore.; sister of Carl Opper of British Columbia, Mrs. Rena Opper of Kitchener and Mrs. Laura Graul of Gads Hill. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, Margaret (nee Schmidt) and William Opper; sister Stella; brothers, Herb, Peter and Phil. Visitation at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, Benton and Church Streets, after 7 pm this evening, where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2 pm, Rev. Harold Brill officiating.
