Notes - Brooks, Herbert B. - On Saturday, Oct. 31, 1987, at K-W Hospital, Herbert Banton Brooks, in his 92nd year, of 448 Greenfield Ave., Kitchener. Beloved husband if Ivy Hamacher; dear father of Lorraine and her husband Harold Perry of Toronto; brother of Eleanor Gilmore and Gladys Jackson, both of St. Thomas and Gertrude Spry of Orono; loving grandfather of John and Keith Kelly, Judith and her husband Austin Benoit, Linda and David Perry; step-father of Tom Hamacher and his wife Kathy, Janice Schell and her husband Harold, Gordon Hamacher, Greg Hamacher and his wife Helena, Patricia Hamdorf and her husband David, Loraine Ritzmann and her husband Alfred. Lovingly remembered by his 12 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his first wife, Alvina (nee Bartscher), two brothers and two sisters. Mr. Brooks was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran church; served overseas and was wounded with the Canadian Armed forces during the First World War and upon his return was employed with Dominion Rubber Company Limited (Tire Division) until his retirement in 1960. Visitation at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, this evening (Monday), 7-9 pm and Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service in the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel Wednesday at 1 pm, Rev. Harold Brill will conduct the service. Interment Memory Gardens.
