- Mrs. Oscar Smith - Mrs. Oscar Smith of 86 Euclid Ave., died Wednesday at K-W Hospital. She was 65. Born Sept. 19, 1901 at St. Jacobs, she was the former Irene Geiger, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Geiger. She resided in Waterloo for 45years. She was a charter member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church and a past noble grand and district deputy president of Rebekah Lodge and a member of the past Noble Grand Club. Surviving are her husband, to whom she was married in Heidelberg in 1922; three sons, Grant, Kitchener, Ross, Dorval, Kenneth of Windsor; one daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Sandra) Brunk, Kitchener; three brothers, Sangster of Kitchener, Morris of Florida, Clayton of Toronto; three sisters, Mrs. Edward (Clara) Prowse of Hamilton, Florence of Africa, Mrs. Edgar (Dianna) Schmitt of Waterloo, and 11 grandchildren. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until noon Saturday when removal will be made to Mount Zion Lutheran Church for service at 3 pm. A memorial service will be held at 7 pm Friday at the funeral home under the auspices of the Crystal Rebekah Lodge. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
