  MERKLINGER, Peter D. - At his residence, Maples Home for Seniors in Tavistock, on Thursday, July 28, 1988, after a lengthy illness, Peter David Merklinger, aged 85 years. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church for 33 years. He had been a barber in Kitchener for 41 years until his retirement in 1974. He was a member of the Waterloo and Ayr Masonic Lodges AF and AM. Father of Audrey and father-in-law of Ronald Murray of Edmonton, Alta.; brother of Louis of Windsor, Arthur of Oakville. Two grandchildren, Murray Goodwin and Lorrie Lyster and three great-grandchildren, Cheryl and Allison Lyster and Dale Goodwin, also survive. Predeceased by his parents; his three wives, Madeline Klages, Ruth Schafer and Isabel Muir; one sister, Gertrude (Mrs. Howard Schedewitz) and two brothers, John and Edward. At the request of the family, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held from the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 821 King St. W., on Tuesday at 4 p.m., with Pastor Karl Knaufi officiating.
