- Wilfred Shoemaker - Stricken With a heart attack. Wilfred Shoemaker, 42, of 183 Victoria St. South, died at his, home Friday. He was caretaker of the Kitchener Canadian Legion branch. Born Aug. 28, 1917, in Preston, he was a member of St. John's' RC Church. Surviving are his parents. Mr. and Mrs. John Shoemaker of Kitchener, his wife, the former Dorothy Connors; five brothers, Norman, Donald, Yale, Ronald and Gerard, all of Kitchener; four sisters, Mrs. Clayton (Gladys) Litzgus of Waterloo, Mrs. Clarence (Dorothy) Lehman, Mrs. John (June) Nolan and Miss Helen Shoemaker, all of Kitchener. The body is at the Gruhn Funeral Home until 8: 30 a m. Monday when removal will be made to St. John's RC Church for requiem high Mass at 9 a.m. Rev. W. F. Gleason will officiate and interment will be in Woodland Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home Sunday at 8 pm.
