- Kenneth M. Makins - Kenneth M. Makins, 63, of 9 College St., died today at K-W Hospital after a seven-year illness. He was born March 29, 1903, at Varna, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Levi Makins. He moved to Kitchener about 38 years ago and was employed with Reliable Transport Ltd. until he became ill. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Mabel Speers, in 1940. Surviving are his second wife, the former Olga Buss; one son, Marvin; seven daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Audrey) Stumpf, Mrs. Frederick (Helen) Decker, Mrs. William (Madeline) Riley, Mrs. Douglas (Irene) Wiles and Mrs. Harry (Barbara) Wiles, all of Kitchener, Mrs. Earl (Shirley) Cornell of Doon and Mrs. Jerome (Marilyn) Dietrich of Bamberg; one brother, Ralph of Novi, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Alfin (Rea) Beaton of Dearborn, Mich.; 31 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at the Schreiter Sandrock Funeral Home Monday at 2 pm. Burial will be in Memory Gardens. Rev. Frederick Davison of Benton Street Baptist Church will officiate.
