Notes - Richter, Kurt - Died on January 24, 2009 at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital with his family at his side in his 68th year. Kurt was born April 22, 1941 in Hof, Czech Republic. He leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Ella Richter (nee Becker); his sons Michael and wife Shari and Kurt and wife Sharon. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Thomas, Alec, Eric, Cameron and Carmen. Survived by his brothers Herbert Richter in Switzerland and Siegfried "Fritz" Richter in Germany. Kurt was a past President and Honourary member of the German Canadian Hunting and Fishing Club for 40 years. He was also a member of the Concordia Club and served as a Director for Concordia's Senioren Haus. He had retired from Budd Canada after 21 years and spent his retirement traveling and at the family cottage near Honey Harbour. Kurt's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue Thursday, January 29, 2009 from 1-1: 45 p.m. followed by a memorial service to celebrate Kurt's life in the chapel of the funeral home at 2 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Children's Wish Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
