MRS. ALICE ULLYOT
Residents of Elmira were shocked on Thursday morning to hear of the death of Mrs. Alice Ullyot, a former Elmira businesswoman.
Mrs. Ullyot died almost instantly about 9:30 a.m. in a 20-ft. fall from her front balcony verandah. Several of her neighbours witnessed the fall as Mrs. Ullyot was shaking mats over the railing of the balcony and apparently lost her footing or took a weak spell. Immediate cause of death is believed to have been a fractured skull.
Carl Sippel, Elmira painter and decorator, the first one on the scene after the fall and Dr. L. Wagner was called. Mrs. Ullyot and her nephew, D. H. Oak, operated Ullyot's Drug Store after the death of her husband, Arthur, in 1934. About ten years ago,
Mrs. Ullyot ceased to be actively connected with. the drug store except in an advisory capacity. The store is owned by Mr. Cale.
A daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Crowe, she was born in Trenton. She was a member of Wesley United Church and Rose Glen Chapter 242, O.E.S.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. R. A. McComb, Toronto and Mr. Cale.
Only last week, Mrs. Ullyot attended the funeral of her brother in Trenton, Ontario. The funeral was conducted Saturday at 3:30 p.m. from the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel.
