- MRS. MAGDELENA SMITH, AGED CHURCH WORKER, IS DEAD AT HOME OF HER SON.
Mrs. Magdelena Smith passed away at the home of her son, Henry Smith, of Madison street, Saturday evening after a brief illness.
Mrs. Smith was born in Alsace, Germany, and married George Smith in Canada, where Mr. Smith died, many years ago. She resided in Caledonia for a number of years, coming to Petoskey about 28 years ago to reside.
She is survived by three sons, John Smith and Henry Smith, of Petoskey, and Adam Smith, of Buffalo, N. Y.. and three brothers, John Heintz, of Petoskey; David Heintz, of Honeut, Calif., and Andrew Heintz, of St. Charles, Ill. Ten grandchildren, also, survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Stone's chapel, with Rev. O. Y. Schneider, pastor of the Evangelical church, of which Mrs. Smith had been a member for more than 40 years, in charge.
