  GUENTHER, Lloyd J. - Peacefully, on Saturday, Dec. 21, 1996, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Lloyd John Guenther, of 96 Brown St., Wellesley. Born in Wilmot Township 81 years ago, son of the late Henry Guenther and the late Olda Kling. Lloyd was a faithful and life member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Philipsburg. Mr. Guenther was very active in his church, serving on church council and on various committees for many years. He was a former member of the Wellesley Board of Trade and the Wellesley North Easthope Agriculture Society. He was a former school trustee at SS No. 18 School and was also on the Arena staff for 15 years. Lloyd farmed in Wilmot Township, retiring in 1977. Loving husband of Hilda (Doering) Guenther of Wellesley; dear father of Marion and her husband John Cook of Baden, Linda and her husband Robert Kraehling of RR 1, St. Agatha, Roy and his wife Lorraine Guenther of RR 1, Wellesley and Neil and his wife, Joanne Guenther of Wellesley. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Carl and Carol Cook, Beth and Randy Martin, Janet, Jason, Laura and Amy Kraehling, Gregory and Krista Guenther, Joshua, Jennifer, Allison and Leisa Guenther; his great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Chantal, Sheldon and Taylor; his sister-in-law, Irene Neeb of Wellesley and the late Walter and brother-in-law, Roy and his wife Blanch Doering of New Hamburg. Predeceased by a foster brother, Richard Witherholt and a granddaughter, Joan Cook. Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 40 Henry St. W. in Wellesley, where family and friends will be received today (Monday) from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. At 9 am Tuesday, Dec. 24, removal will be made to Zion Lutheran Church for the funeral service at 11 am. Pastor Ron Leonard will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
