    • SCHLOTE, Carl Edward

Passed away peacefully on September 3rd, 2011 at the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus. He was in his 96th year when his body betrayed his will to live. He is survived by his two devoted sons James (Pat Gildner) of Denver, Colorado and Philip (Claudia Cronin) of Ottawa and cherished grand-children Stephanie of Denver, Ryan and Melanie (Reyelts) of Fort Collins, Colorado and Alissa of Ottawa. Also survived by his two sisters, Jean Pym of Kitchener, Ontario and Marg Heick of Waterloo. Carl was predeceased by his loving wife Jean (Boyer). Born fourth in a family of 10 children in Waterloo, Ontario on August 4, 1916, to Dorothea (Herbst) and Frederick Schlote, Carl lived most of his life in Kitchener. In recent years, he lived with his son Phil and his family in Ottawa and continued to enjoy playing bridge and swimming before moving to Granite Ridge Long Term Care Home in Stittsville, Ontario. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. His spirit will continue to watch over his loved ones as it did in life.
