  • Notes
    • JANKURA, Jean - (1933-2008) Jean went home peacefully to the Lord with her family at her side at St. Mary's Hospital on April 10, 2008 after a courageous fight. She provided us with inspiration and love until the end. Beloved wife for 54 years and best friend of Harry, who loved and cared for her dearly. Loving and cherished mother of Rick (Dianne), Cindy, Terry, Jim (Kathi) and Dave (Pam). Proud grandmother of Shawn, Derek, Ryan, Paul, Rebecca, Kris, Tom and Brett. Jean was predeceased by her daughter, Cindy, with whom she will now be joyfully reunited; her parents (Louis and Emma Knischewsky); two brothers (Lincoln and Milton) and one sister (Gladys Zettler). She is survived by two brothers, Johnnie (Lucy) and Willard Knischewsky and five sisters, Stella Kehl (Ross), Laura Kieswetter, Sally Farqhuar, Fran Gooding and Marita Eckert (Ed). She will be missed by many. Jean's ability to enjoy life fully was affected by her battle with Multiple Sclerosis, which she had for much of her adult life. We will all take away with us a deep respect for her sense of humour, her joy of life, and her fighting spirit. We ask all that were touched by her to say a special prayer for her. A very special thanks to the many friends she made over the last seven years at the Forest Heights Long Term Care Centre and especially to the ICU staff of St. Mary's Hospital for making her last days as comfortable as possible. Donations in memory of Jean can be made to the St. Mary's Hospital ICU, the Multiple Sclerosis Society or a charity of your choice through the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel (519-742-4481). Online condolences can be made by visiting www.MeM.com.
