- Mrs. Ann Hawkins
PRESTON Mrs. Ann Hawkins of 240 King St. died Friday at South Waterloo Hospital. She was 82. Mrs. Hawkins was born in Harwich, Scotland, Sept. 24, 1888, and located in Hespeler in 1913. She came to Preston in 1941. She was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, a member of the Burns Club of Galt, a member of the 111th Women's Auxiliary of Galt, an honorary member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Preston branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. Her husband, William, was killed in 1918 in the First World War. Surviving are one son, William of Preston and four grandchildren. The body is at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home where a memorial service will be conducted today at 7 p.m. by the Legion Women's Auxiliary and service Monday at 3: 30 p.m. Burial will be in Park Lawn cemetery.
